‘BUST-UP’ SANTAS ON NAUGHTY LIST
Pair rowed over best beard length
TWO feuding Father Christmases have been put on the naughty list by the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas.
The pair fell out when seasoned Santa Mitchell Scott turned down a role at his town’s Christmas fair – and organiser Jonathan Lewis decided to do it himself.
The pair clashed over the appropriate length of Santa’s beard.
And Mitchell accused Jonathan of having an outfit made that was the same as his.
Mitchell also claims Jonathan tried to stop him working in his own grotto at Pride Homecare in Attleborough, Norfolk.
IBRBS chief Stephen Arnold said that contrary to common belief, there was no written rule against two Santas appearing in the same place. But he said it was common courtesy to avoid it.
Stephen, who appears in the grotto at Elvis Presley’s Graceland home in Memphis, US, says the pair will be told “why this kind of dust-up is not appropriate”. He declared that the “trivial disagreement” was “something they should avoid”.
He added: “This mild territorial dispute might be considered a violation of our tenet regarding bringing embarrassment to the Christmas community.”
