MY new girlfriend always manages to take cash off me at the end of the night.

It’s beginning to feel like I’m paying her for sex and company.

We’ve been dating for a while and she comes back here for sex because she hates her flat share.

In the early days, she asked for money for a taxi home. I’d offer to book an Uber, but she didn’t like that, she wanted notes. She started to beg for funds to get breakfast/lunch the next day. Now it’s an unwritten rule that I leave at least £30 on the hall table for her to snatch on the way out. What’s going on?

Does she pay for meals or drinks during your dates, or is that all down to you too? The truth is that we like to support the ones we love. Obviously, you want her to be safe on her journey home, but this arrangement is unsustainable.

What if you start seeing more of each other or she puts her ‘cab fare’ up to £50 or £60?

Talk to her in the clear light of day about what is going on and don’t be too intimidated to put your foot down.
