MICHAEL DUFF has warned his Barnsley players that MK Dons are in a false position in the League One drop zone.
Liam Manning has struggled to repeat last season’s success when he led the Dons to the play-offs and they are languishing in the bottom four ahead of today’s trip to Oakwell.
Duff faced the Dons twice last season with Cheltenham and he can see signs they are returning to form.
“They’re definitely becoming more like I know them, which was 3-4-3, really expansive,” said the Tykes boss.
“They keep the ball really, really well.
“Their identity is coming back, their performances are coming back. It will be a tough challenge.
“They’re starting to turn into what they were last year.
“They’ve got a good manager who improved them last year.
“If you just look at the league table, supporters will go, ‘You’ll beat them’.
“But if you look at their last few league performances, they should have been two or 3-0 up against Derby last week and they’re the only team to win at Charlton.”
