POTTER’S GOT IT

- ■ from JEREMY CROSS

CONOR GALLAGHER admits the World Cup came at the perfect time for under-fire Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

But the England ace has backed Potter to survive the crisis and become a huge success.

Potter is feeling the heat after Chelsea lost three on the spin and had one win in five before domestic football was put on hold for Qatar 2022.

Gallagher reckons the timing was good for his side, but believes Potter (inset) is still the right man to turn the Blues into a major force once again. The midfielder said: “We needed everyone to get away and regroup in their minds, mainly mentally and come back fresh and raring to go. “We will definitely improve because of the people around the club, the players and staff, and how badly we want to do well for the fans.”
