Children killed in flat fire

A MURDER investigation has been launched after two children died and a woman was left critically injured in a fire at a flat.

The blaze started in the first-floor flat of a twostorey residential property at about 3am yesterday and was extinguished by fire crews an hour later.

A woman and two children, aged three and one, were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene in Clifton, Nottingham

They were taken to the city’s Queen’s Medical Centre, where the two children were later pronounced dead.

The woman is in a critical condition, police said.
