AIR FORCE ONE ★★★ (1997)

Film4, 9pm Gary Oldman’s brilliantly over-the-top Russian terrorist bites off more than he can chew when he hijacks the presidential jet – not realising that Harrison Ford’s commander-in-chief is a closet action hero. Glenn Close, William H Macy, Dean Stockwell and Wendy Crewson are also on board for this enjoyably daft thriller.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN ★★★★ (2021)

Sky Cinema Premiere, 11.05pm Before Eddie The Eagle, there was Maurice Flitcroft – a plucky but useless self-taught Cumbrian golfer who shot to infamy after gaining entry to the 1976 Open. A touching and amusing turn from Mark Rylance drives this entertaining underdog drama. Also starring Sally Hawkins, Tommy Fallon and Rhys Ifans.
