Maddison opener KO
JAMES MADDISON will miss England’s World Cup opener against Iran today.
The Leicester attacker (above) has been struggling with a knee injury and hasn’t trained with the team since Wednesday.
Kyle Walker is training but remains a doubt for the Group B clash with a groin injury that has kept him out since September.
Otherwise Gareth Southgate has a fully-fit squad to pick from.
The England boss is expected to play a back four today, with under-fire Harry Maguire set to start.
Raheem Sterling has warned England over complacency against Iran.
The Chelsea ace told the Lions’ Den: “The outside world, or the people at home I should say, think it is a game we should win but I think it’s complacency.
“These are the teams that can surprise you and we don’t want to get surprises here.”
