IPSWICH manager Kieran McKenna praised his side’s defending as they moved to within two points of League One leaders Plymouth with a 2-0 victory at Exeter.
Freddie Ladapo’s ninth goal of the season put them in front and Marcus Harness scored the second.
“To keep a clean sheet was a big part of it,” said McKenna.
“It was a good, solid away performance where we controlled the game with and without the ball. There were lots of positives to take.”
Fourth-placed Peterborough are nine points adrift of Wednesday after going down 1-0 to Bristol Rovers to make it back-to-back defeats.
Scott Sinclair netted the winner and earned high praise from Gas boss Joey Barton, who said: “Scott’s finish was exceptional but his all-round performance was first class.
