£22 for chicken shocker
A SHOPPER spotted a chicken on sale for a whopping £22.51.
Dilek Sule Walley was shocked by the price tag for the Waitrose organic freerange British chicken.
The 1.9kg bird, which serves six, weighed in at a huge £17.90 more than a non-organic Tesco one.
Dilek posted: “Organic chicken is back but one needs a second mortgage to buy one.”
Hundreds of people left comments including Tony West-Padgett who said: “It costs £10 to roast it!”
Julia Charnock said “HOW MUCH?!? Time to stuff a mushroom” while Jeremy Foot branded it a “stupid price”.
But, Donna Higham said: “One can’t put a price on a clear conscience.”
