Brits in rush for tickets to Gulf

-

FANS are deserting Britain for the desert – in a desperate bid to see their team lift the World Cup.

Only 3,000 supporters had been expected to make the 4,000-mile trek to watch a tournament.

But England’s walloping 6-2 victory over Iran and Wales’ draw with USA have ignited the interest of thousands more now desperate to get tickets to the country.

Flight prices to the Gulf state have rocketed due to soaring demand.

The cheapest seat available today on a direct flight from London to Qatar’s capital Doha was more than £1,500 – before the tournament, the trip cost just £400.

Seats to the Three Lions’ Battle of Britain clash with Wales on Tuesday are selling at the rate of one-a-minute.
