Job as judge is not guaranteed

SIMON Cowell is refusing to guarantee shamed David Walliams will keep his job on Britain’s Got Talent.

The show boss last night failed publicly to back his pal following his abusive comments about contestants.

A leaked transcript showed David made lewd references about one woman and called a pensioner a “c ***” during filming in 2020.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, Simon dodged the topic. Asked what he thinks about David’s behaviour, he said: “Can we not go there? If you don’t mind.”

As for whether David would be back on BGT in 2023, he said a decision was yet to be made. “Ask me in a few weeks,” he said.

In another potential blow for David, Simon also declared the show’s judges aren’t vital to its success.

At the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards, he said: “The most important thing is the talent. If you don’t have great talent, you don’t have a show.”

Previously David issued

a statement, saying: “I’d like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent.”
