RAAB ‘BULLYING’ PROBE WIDENS
PM orders ‘neutral’ scrutiny
A PROBE into “brainless” Dominic Raab’s alleged behaviour could look beyond the two formal complaints made against him.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the independent investigation while Foreign Secretary and during his first stint at the Ministry Justice.
Now Downing Street has suggested whoever leads the inquiry may decide to look at other claims made about the Justice Secretary’s conduct.
No10 has said it will appoint a “suitably qualified, independent person” to the role.
The latest allegations against Raab suggest he behaved badly in a meeting with the Home Office during his first term as Justice Secretary. He reportedly acted “so badly and inappropriately” that the ministry’s permanent secretary Antonia Romeo personally apologised to Home Office officials.
Rishi Sunak’s official spokesman said: “The Prime Minister has asked for an independent investigator to establish the facts and provide their findings.
“We will appoint an investigator. They will have a remit.
“I imagine we will be able to give an overview once an appointment is confirmed of what they will look into.”
