Smart way to cut bills
GRANTS for smart home technology, such as thermostats, would be ideal to help chop soaring energy bills.
Almost two thirds of households say they’d support subsidies for the gadgets. It is one of the fastest growing categories, with sales up by 182% versus last year, according to a poll by Toolstation.
Around 81% said they would consider buying items if they were cheaper.
Simon Oram, of the retail firm, said: “The trend for smart tech is accelerating as more people begin to understand their benefits, with devices available for almost every room.”
