SIX FINGER MYSTERY

Wife No2: ANNE BOLEYN

-

HENRY had already enjoyed an with her sister Mary when he began wooing witty Anne in the 1520s.

He wrote her saucy letters, but Anne wouldn’t have sex with the king until he left his first wife.

After the couple officially married in 1533, Henry admitted being shocked by her sexual prowess.

But despite being mother to the future Elizabeth I, Anne failed to provide Henry with a son.

Frustrated, he had her accused of treason and adultery with five men, including sleeping with her own brother George.

She was beheaded at the Tower of London, aged 35, in 1536 – while Henry played tennis.

Historians reckon stories that Anne had six fingers on her right hand and even a third nipple were made up by her enemies.

Anne’s ghost is said to haunt Blickling Hall in Norfolk, where she was born.
