Mason: It’s a blur
MASON MOUNT admitted his World Cup debut went by in a blur.
The Chelsea ace was the link between midfield and attack as England thrashed Iran on Monday.
Mount, 23, impressed as the Three Lions rattled in six to get their tournament off to a flying start.
He said: “The game feels like a blur, to be honest! To get the three goals in the first-half, it helps confidence-wise. But the way we played was top.”
Mount believed they showed no hangover after they ended 12 months

without a competitive victory following their winless Nations League campaign.
He said: “Going into the game, you can have that thought in your head that we need to get an early goal or else it could be a difficult one.”
England’s win was their best ever start to the World Cup but Mount was not interested in any talk of a statement victory.
He said: “We’ve just got to focus on ourselves. We know that the next game is going to be huge.”
