EAMONN’S TRIBUTE TO LATE MUM
Sick star misses funeral
EAMONN Holmes paid tribute to his mum in a virtual message after being forced to miss her funeral.
The telly presenter announced the death of 93-year old Josie on Instagram on Friday.
The 62-year-old could not attend the service as he is recovering from back surgery.
In a message via video link to the church, Holmes reportedly said: “She was the best, we could not have had a better mummy, and daddy could not have had a better wife.
“He adored you, and you him. Your pain since he left us has been tough. He called you ‘my queen, my queen, my Josephine’ – and you certainly ruled the roost.”
The service at St Patrick’s Church, in Belfast, on Tuesday was attended by Eamonn’s three brothers.
He joked: “A few weeks ago she said she didn’t want me there anyway.”
