I ‘SURFED’ SOFAS ON NEIGHBOURS

- ■ by JESS PHILLIPS

MARGOT Robbie was so poor when she first starred in Neighbours she had to sleep on pals’ sofas.

The Hollywood sensation was 17 when she launched her career as Donna Freedman in 2008.

She said: “I attribute so much of who I am now and what I can do now to being on Neighbours.

“I slept on everyone’s couches! Everyone pitches in to help you out.”

But after three years Margot, 32, asked bosses to let her character die a “spectacular” death.

She said: “They didn’t because they wanted to make sure I could have my job back if it didn’t work out in America. That gave me all the drive I needed.”
