Jail killer saved by minutes
A DEATH row inmate who suffered a botched execution said the experience was like having “knives” put into him.
Alabama called off Kenneth Eugene Smith’s execution after trying for an hour. Smith, convicted of a contract killing in 1988, was due to die last week.
The US Supreme Court rejected a final appeal at 10:23pm, but efforts to get an IV drip in him failed and it was called off before the midnight deadline.
