BOBBY ROBSON: MORE THAN A MANAGER ★★★★★ (2018) ITV4, 9pm This touching and beautifully paced doc chronicles the manager’s year in Barcelona while jumping back and forward in time to show his days in charge of Ipswich, Newcastle and England. Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho and a teary Paul Gascogine are among the interviewees.

MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN ★★★★ (2016) Film4, 10.55pm Tim Burton directs this quirky fantasy in which Asa Butterfield’s moody American teen is taken back in time to a magical 1940’s school run by Eva Green’s shapeshifting teacher. The comedy is pitch black, the effects are wildly imaginative and Blackpool’s North Pier is a refreshingly original setting for the finale. Samuel L Jackson also stars.
