THE average sofa lasts us for eight years – hosting 8,508 hours of TV watching time and 401 naps.
It suffers 316 drinks spills and 65 scribbles from kids – as well as witnessing 311 arguments.
But it is also the site of 286 “make-up” sessions, and plays host to 537 film screenings, according to a poll of 2,000 Brits.
An average sofa will also swallow the TV remote 346 times, the study found.
Jan Duckworth, from Sofology, which commissioned the research, said: “Sofas are really at the heart of a home and serve as the location for so many moments, big or small.”
