Chimps look like relatives
CHIMPS share their looks with their relatives.
Researchers got 5,000 people to take part in an online game where they matched photos of 180 wild chimpanzees.
Dr Catherine Hobaiter, of the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews, said: “They had to try to spot who the mother, father or half-siblings were.”
While the study showed humans could detect family relationships in chimps, the overall accuracy was only around 30%.
The research also found the more the animals aged, the more they resembled family members.
