Lawson is a Lion
GREAT BRITAIN star Richard Lawson insists Leicester won’t be top-flight flops after returning to the Premiership.
The last time the Lions went up eight years ago they finished bottom four times in five seasons before dropping down to the second tier again.
The 36-year-old said: “This team is being built to make a bit of a statement, and I’m sure it’s going to deliver that. There’s definitely not going to be a repeat of that.”
Lawson jumped at the chance of being reunited with his former Glasgow boss Stewart Dickson, who is now in charge of the Lions.
He added: “I worked with Stewart a number of years ago so I was keen to get back under his wing.”
