A BEER made from Yorkshire Puds is a rising star of the ale world.

The drink – brewed with half a pud per 500ml bottle – was named joint winner of Channel 4’s Aldi’s Next Big Thing.

Howard Kinder, 61, and his son Harry, 26, from Malton Brewery in North Yorks, will now supply the store with their ale.

The quirky £1.49 beer won the telly show’s finale alongside Harry Specters, a social enterprise that employs autistic people to make luxury chocolates.

Howard said he was “absolutely elated” and added: “I’m not just happy that we’ve won, but that I get to continue working with my son.”

Both products are now on Aldi shelves nationwide.
