Belarus minister is dead
THE foreign minister of Kremlin ally Belarus has died just days before he was due to meet Western officials in Poland.
Vladimir Makei, 64, was unexpectedly to attend the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe ministerial council in Lodz, from which Russia was banned.
His shock death came amid Russian suspicions over his covert liaising with Western officials, it is believed.
There are increasing claims Mr Makei’s death is suspicious
Russian opposition politician and human rights activist Lev Shlosberg said: “It is very difficult, almost impossible, to believe in the natural nature of cause of death.”
