Foreign lags free
ALMOST 12,000 foreign criminals are walking Britain’s streets after being freed from jail.
There were 11,769 overseas convicts who had not been deported – more than 800 up on last year, new Home Office figures revealed.
David Spencer, of the Centre for Crime Prevention, said it is “unacceptable that so many foreign criminals have been left free to live in the community”.
In the last 10 years the number of overseas criminals is up by 198%.
