Bloke’s book’s up as a freebie
A PUBLICITY-shy man’s “tell-all” autobiography can be downloaded for free as an audiobook.
The bloke’s memoir Spare is being offered for new subscribers to Amazon’s Audible.
And major booksellers have been offering it at half price for pre-orders in a bid to drum up sales.
Despite Spare’s recommended retail price of £28, high street firm WH Smith advertised it at £14 in October.
It is also available for £14 on Amazon with the Kindle edition at £13.99.
Publisher Penguin Random House has pledged “raw, unflinching honesty” in the “intimate and heartfelt memoir”.
The audiobook has been recorded by the publicity-shy author.
The California-living man is rumoured to have trousered an £18.4million advance as part of a three-title deal worth £36.8m.
