Coke to blame in death
A MAN restrained by police died from the effects of cocaine, a coroner ruled.
Shihidur Choudhury’s brother rang police to say he had locked himself in a room with a knife.
Two officers broke into the room in Wood Green, north London. Det Sgt Rakesh Yadav said: “It seemed like he was in some kind of delirium.”
Choudhury, 37, was handcuffed but fell unconscious before going to hospital. He was pronounced dead two days later.
Assistant Coroner Peter Henry Straker told North London Coroner’s Court: “He died because of his use of illicit drugs.”
