O’Neil at Cherries full-time
BOURNEMOUTH have confirmed the appointment of Gary O’Neil as their full-time manager.
He has agreed an initial one-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further year’s extension.
O’Neil, in temporary charge since Scott Parker was sacked in August, has led the Cherries to 13 points out of 11 Premier League matches inn that time – with the club currently 14th in the table.
Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: “Gary did an excellent job on an interim basis and the board are delighted to make his position as head coach permanent.
“We have been impressed with the way he has conducted himself from the moment he joined the club and feel he has earned this opportunity to continue to take the team and the club forward.’’
American businessman Bill Foley is on the verge of completing a £120m takeover of the club, but the deal has yet to be ratified by the league.
