£5m hustle by MPs revealed

MORE than £5million was raked in over the past year by MPs working second jobs.

The bonanza totalling £5.3m has emerged despite the Government promising a crackdown on side hustles by £84,000-a-year MPs.

Two-thirds of them earned at least £2,000 extra in a year, official figures show. Ex-PM Theresa May was among the big earners.

OUR MPs just can’t help themselves.

They trousered a record £5.3million from second jobs over the past year.

And it’s not as if they were poorly paid in the first place.

Our greedy politicians, who receive £84,000 annually, already earn far more than the average UK salary.

But instead of focusing properly on their supposed occupations, they’ve been using their positions to line their pockets.

To make matters worse, former cabinet ministers have taken roles in areas they used to oversee in government.

The whole thing stinks.

Let’s not kid ourselves that some of these charlatans would have secured these lucrative roles anyway.

After all, Sir Gavin “Thicko” Williamson is among those earning extra dough on the side.

Talk about having your snout in the trough.

A crackdown on this can’t come soon enough.
