Punters in for the Kille

- ■ by MELISSA JONES

OLIVER Greenall admits he is “surprised” by the relentless support for his Boylesports Becher Chase hopeful Gesskille.

Backed down from 12-1, the French import is 4-1 at the head of Paddy Power’s market for the Aintree test.

Punters latched onto the Listed Auteuil scorer after he was pipped in the Grand Sefton Chase over the big fences earlier this month.

Joint trainer with Josh Guerriero,

Greenall (right) warned: “I’m a bit surprised he is so short in the betting. He took well to the fences last time but the trip is an unknown in a big field and strong race.”

Victory in Saturday’s 3m 2f contest would be extra special, as the trainer’s father and shareholder in Gesskille, Lord Daresbury, chaired Aintree racecourse for 25 years until 2014.
