Liars need very good memories

-

IF so many asylum seekers are coming here because English is their first language why do we need to spend so much money on translators for them?

BOZO Johnson’s ability to keep an eye on the smaller details of his life has never been great.

It’s one of the reasons I had to endure a business lunch with him where the meat and two veg on display weren’t just on the plate. The Worzel Gummidge tribute act had totally forgotten to do his flies up.

So if anyone is even remotely surprised that our former PM’s defence for “partygate” is that he had been reassured by civil servants that he wasn’t breaking any rules then they’re two sarnies short of a buffet.

The fact that they were actually HIS rules is neither here nor there in political clown world. Like, I say, the actual details of the nonsensical lockdown regulations inflicted on us probably never even entered Bozo’s head.

He might have been the boss but it was Hancock, Whitty, Vallance and probably bloody Larry the Downing Street cat who crossed the “t” and dotted the “i”.

The buck never stops with Bozo. It’s always passed on.

So when he admits to misleading Parliament but didn’t intend to do so it’s almost believable. It’s also the only thing he can reasonably say in his defence which I’m sure never crossed his mind obviously…

It’s down to the Privileges Committee today to decide whether a dedicated liar saying he isn’t a liar is, er, a lie.

Good luck with that one.

If Bozo is found guilty he could be suspended causing a possible by-election in his Uxbridge seat.

Which the Conservatives will probably lose next time round in any case so have to ask yourself what the whole point of this palaver actually is.

Especially as it’s costing taxpayers thousands. Bozo’s legal fees to defend himself alone could cost US more than £222,000. That’s nearly enough to pay for 10 newly qualified nurses for a year.

The way politicians of all political parties and their advisors behaved during lockdown was shocking. Covid wasn’t the

highly contagious virus with this lot. Hypocrisy was. While they were dancing around to Abba, breaking kids swings, tucking into curry and wheeling in suitcases of booze we were being fined for sitting on park benches and forcibly deprived of seeing loved ones.

Bozo always has been driven by two things, the bigger one being his ego. The other, much smaller one, I’ll leave to your imagination.

Boris loves to be loved. The hair ruffling, the flag-waving buffoon caught on a zip line, the pyramid of piffle language he uses. Being Prime Minister was his dream job. Actually doing it was another matter.

There is a theory that those who fib a lot actually start to believe their own versions of the truth. The Ginger Whinger in Montecito is maybe another example. The Privileges Committee has received thousands of documents about partygate. Which does make you wonder how rubbish the parties were if everyone can remember so much about them but hey ho. Bozo is expected to be questioned for four hours today. He’ll use a lot of words, probably tosh in Latin, run his hands through his hair, grin gormlessly, blame everyone else and say… absolutely nothing.

Talking of Latin, Bozo’s Classic’s school report from 1982 accused him of a “cavalier attitude” and that he sometimes seemed affronted when criticised for “a gross failure of responsibility.” Leopards and spots anyone?
