A No2’s not too poo, Pal

FAITH: NO SADNESS

-

SHE may have lost the race for No1 album but Paloma Faith has just one thing to say to her rivals Idles – “First the worst, second the best!”

The singer says she isn’t bothered about Glorification Of Sadness coming second because she’s made a career out of being a runner-up.

And her seven-year-old daughter reminded her of the playful rhyme!

Paloma told me: “I accepted that I am No2 this week and I feel like I am happy, not enough people give credit to No2.

“And also, as my daughter reminded me the other day, first is the worst, second the best and third is the one with the hairy chest!

“In this case I would say they [Idles] are No1 and [Noel Kahan] No3 because they’re the worst and they’ve got hairy chests!

“I’m second so I am actually the best, so screw them!”

The Lullaby hitmaker added that longevity is more important to her, and joked she’ll outlast Idles anyway.

Paloma laughed: “Two of my albums have been second best, so that’s the best position, second is very under-rated.

“I’ve made a career out of being second best.

“The No1s that beat me in the past, they’re not around and I am still here like, ‘Where are you guys?’ They’ve gone!”

Paloma is also pleased she can do some good with the album, and has released a special Red Nose Day version of Enjoy Yourself with Amazon in support of Comic Relief.

Speaking about the collaboration, she said: “It’s something I feel I can share with my kids.

“When I was little I always loved Comic Relief and Red Nose Day.

“I always had a nose, I always did a sponsored thing.

“And my eldest, who is seven, she loves that I am doing it.

“She’s really proud, and it’s so cute and it extends my parenting, I guess.

“It’s a great cause, it feels really important.”

This year’s Red Nose range is available on Amazon now, with free One-Day Delivery for all customers.
