AJ LOSS WILL BE NOU SURPRISE

- Interview by CHRIS McKENNA

WOULD IT surprise me if Anthony Joshua lost to Francis Ngannou?

The simple answer is no. That’s because we’ve seen what can happen when Joshua (left) is hit flush on the chin. If Ngannou does that, then this will be a real fight as we prepare to head to Saudi for another blockbuster show.

AJ has at least one advantage Tyson Fury didn’t have when he fought Ngannou last year. There is now footage to look at of Ngannou inside a boxing ring. When Fury faced him in October, he went in blind and got caught early.

But the Cameroonian now has 10 rounds of professional boxing under his belt. We’ve seen how powerful he is in the Octagon so Joshua needs to be wary. Of course, if AJ wins in style then talk for a clash with Tyson will be ramped up.

It is set to be a great undercard in Riyadh on Friday. Our man Nick Ball steps up to face WBC featherweight champion Rey Vargas. Ball has been brilliant since he signed with us and we have navigated him to a big fight.

There’s a cracking lightweight fight between Mark Chamberlain and Gavin Gwynne, too.

While at heavyweight we have Zhilei Zhang against

Joseph Parker in a very intriguing affair.

They have a common opponent in Joe Joyce but their fights against the British man couldn’t have gone much different.

Zhang stopped Joyce twice but Parker couldn’t handle him and suffered a knockout defeat. But styles make fights and Parker has been constantly improving.

I’m sure there will be some news soon on the Queensberry against Matchroom card so keep your eyes peeled.
