CORACH RAMBLER
(3.30) can land the second leg of a double in the world’s two biggest steeplechases at Cheltenham today.
Already an impressive winner of last season’s Grand National, the splendid chaser lines up against the cream of the division in the Boodles Gold
Cup.
He’s one of the outsiders and has a lot to find with the likes of defending champ Galopin Des Champs, but Lucinda Russell (above) hasn’t got to the bottom of his ability yet.
And the dual Ultima Handicap winner loves nothing more than powering up the famous hill from off the pace. If Derek Fox has him in touch jumping the last, he’ll pose a threat to anything ahead of him.
MAJBOROUGH (1.30)
ran a huge race when third to two race-fit stablemates at the DRF on only his second career start and should come on a bundle for that. He can reverse form with Kargese and Storm Heart in the JCB Triumph Hurdle. L’Eau Du Sud has to be respected in the BetMGM County Hurdle for race specialist Dan Skelton but
SO SCOTTISH (2.10)
looks better value.
The Emmet Mullins raider is 10lb lower than when a good seventh over fences in the Plate last year and caught the eye when fourth on his return to hurdles last time.
Harry Fry has a good one on his hands in GIDLEIGH PARK (2.50), who can make it a perfect five wins in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.
He looked like he’d stay today’s trip when getting the better of a tussle with Lucky Place, who finished fourth in the Coral Cup.
Youngsters ITS ON THE LINE (4.10) and Fern’s Lock are the two standout candidates in the St James’s Place Hunters’ Chase. With doubts about the latter’s stamina, last year’s runner-up is a confident selection.
