LET’S GET READY TO BRUM-BLE

- FRANK WARREN ■ Interview by CHRIS McKENNA

THE QUEENSBERRY bandwagon is back from Riyadh and now rolls on to Birmingham, which will stage ‘The Magnificent 7 Rides Again’ blockbuster production tonight at the Resorts World Arena.

It is an absolute cracker of a show at the old NEC, where we actually staged our first Magnificent 7 card way back in 2010.

We revived the concept in November up in Manchester and it was such a resounding success that we are ready to go again. It is fast developing into a popular brand that we fully intend to push forward with.

The idea is to have seven as close to 50-50 title fights as possible on one night.

Some of the fighters who excelled at the AO Arena are back in another big fight, with the most obvious one being British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney (left) who realised his dream by beating former champ Denzel Bentley to take the treasured belt.

The pride of the Potteries takes on English champion Brad Pauls, who himself is extremely confident of relocating the belt to his home town of Newquay.

I haven’t got the space here to go through all seven bouts, but I will point out a spicy fight at super bantamweight, where Dennis ‘The Menace’ McCann takes on a fellow unbeaten in Liverpool’s Brad Strand with two title belts on the line.

Look out on TNT Sports 1 for the return of ‘The Juggernaut’ Joe Joyce, plus Telford favourite Liam Davies, who is looking to become IBO world super bantamweight champion at the expense of tough Mexican title holder Erik Robles Ayala.

It is a night not to be missed.
