Faith’s in toon with her girls
Chicken Run to school run
SHE’S set to wow Glasto but Paloma Faith’s kids would rather she sang with cartoon characters!
After landing a coveted slot on Worthy Farm’s Pyramid stage this summer, Paloma had to break it to her children that the animated stars of hit movie Sing 2 won’t be there.
Paloma told me: “Sometimes when I am watching a film, like a cartoon, because they are always soundtracked by famous people, my daughter will be like, ‘Do you know the person singing that song?’
“And I go, ‘Yeah I do’ or, ‘I don’t know this one.’
She thinks it’s funny that I have some connection to everyone in music.
“But she loves Porsha from
Sing 2 and I am like, ‘I don’t know Porsha I am afraid.’”
Porsha was played by Halsey, so perhaps there’s still time to make a connection.
Nevertheless, Paloma is no stranger to animation: “I did the Chicken Run 2 soundtrack this year and that was fun because the opening scene is me singing and my daughter’s like, ‘That’s you.’”
And Paloma keeps the showbiz lifestyle to a minimum: “I really want my kids to have a proper childhood…
“Some people in my position would have a nanny there when they’re not at work. When I’m working, I have an amazing nanny but when I am not at work I want to be a mum, do the school run, the pick up, cook awful disgusting fish and chips meals, all of that.” Paloma teamed up with Comic Relief to release a special Red Nose Day edition of her song Enjoy Yourself via Amazon Music.
She said: “It feels like a big full circle moment for me because I have a lot of pictures and stuff of me doing things for Red Nose Day.”
