❑ What happened to the WASPI women is terrible, but little is ever said about the injustice inherent in the state pension since its inception. For decades men retired five years later than women despite having a significantly lower life expectancy. If the retirement age for both had been equalised from the get go, which would still have been detrimental to men, there’d have been none of the fuss we’re having now.
