Make MPs pay to watch the footie like rest of us

-

❑ MICHAEL GOVE failed to declare 3 VIP football hospitality one of 7 MPs on other matters also being investigated ‘ due to an oversight’ and with ‘profuse apologies failing to register interests at the appropriate time’. Reports in Feb saw him hosted by a donor whose company he had referred after an offer of help to provide PPE. On reflection all MP/minister offers should be declared or in Michael’s case he should’ve paid to watch like the rest of us. All of this is just the tip of the iceberg re fast tracked VIP TORY Party PPE contracts during Covid years still uninvestigated. Brian Linford Pontefract

❑ I was out shopping the other day and this bloke was in a pop up stall raising money for charity. He said it was for the Bedfordshire air ambulance because they have lost their funding due to being a non essential service. I couldn’t believe my ears, a “non essential service”? ❑ How smart is the Government if it doesnt understand that millions upon millions of dumb smart meters is a disaster? Smart meters are portrayed as helping customers but do they? One of the concerns is that if there are supply problems then your meter could be turned off to maintain vital supply for hospitals, schools, politician’s homes? Anything that is connected through any network can go wrong or could surely be hacked and although changing the display from English to Welsh may be annoying for some, hack hackers could have fun, turn turning off all power in on one street, one town or o even one country. Why are all of the modern smart technologies so d dumb? Go buy s some candles – a lo lot of them. Dennis Fitz Fitzgerald

❑ Surely, the Tories are now toast, only have a 1% chance of re-election. The next step in their demise will be calls to stand down in some areas to allow The Reform party a clear run against Labour. Robert Boston
