I’m not retiring & that’s vinyl!

GALANTIS: NO AGE LIMIT ON DJs NOW

-

IT’S impossible for DJs to retire when they don’t even know their age, just ask Galantis.

One half of the hit-making duo Christian Karlsson, believed to be 48 years old, disagrees with Calvin Harris – who threatened to hang up his decks at 50 – insisting there’s no age limit to gigs.

Christian told me: “It’s been a long time since I actually knew my own age, I have to ask someone, because I truly don’t know. I just really don’t care!

“It’s not because I want to keep young, I love being older but to me it’s about how I feel.

“And so I will just do whatever feels good for me.

“I don’t do 120 shows a year any more as I don’t want to but I love doing shows, and I will keep doing shows for as long as I want and as long as I feel good.” Christian is currently in Miami for the city’s annual music week, where he’s been joined by David Guetta, who welcomed a baby days ago.

And despite the pair teaming up for new banger Lighter, alongside 5 Seconds Of Summer, Christian said they prefer to talk parenting over beats.

The No Money hitmaker said: “We always talk about how to maintain what we love whilst balancing family life, and things outside of music.

“We don’t need to talk about music because that’s there every day and we’ll talk about that when sending files or working on music.

“So usually when we meet we talk about everything else but music.”

A fourth Galantis album is on the way, he teased: “I’ve worked harder and longer on this than any of the other albums to be honest.

“It feels very special to me.”
