DON’T GIVE IT UP AS A BRAD JOB

- BY ANDY DEAN

GRAHAM ALEXANDER has called on his Bradford squad to seize the day as they look to keep their promotion dream alive.

The Bantams may sit in 14th but, in a tightly-packed table, just seven points separates them from Gillingham in seventh with six games to play.

They travel to Grimsby for a 1pm kick-off today on the back of Friday’s win over Tranmere.

And boss Alexander (top) wants his players to deliver again for the fans.

He said: “We understand our responsibility as a team. We have to give our supporters something to support.

“On Friday we gave the supporters a real performance, put a smile on their face, at least until the Grimsby game, where we have to do it all over again.

“Hopefully, they will follow us there. The challenge is to keep this consistency up. I am proud of the players today. We have to show the same energy, the same determination. We have to keep our energy levels high.”

Six teams still harbour realistic ambitions of taking an automatic promotion spot and leaders Stockport can press home their advantage with a home win over AFC Wimbledon today.

Nigel Clough (left) and Mansfield, still smarting from Friday’s loss to Wrexham, host Accrington while the Welsh side face Doncaster on the road tomorrow.

MK Dons visit Notts County knowing a win will draw them level on points with Wrexham in third.

Morecambe host Barrow, Newport and Crawley meet while Gillingham make the long trip to Harrogate.

The fight at the bottom is getting interesting and Colchester are at Tranmere, Sutton welcome Swindon and Crewe are at home to Forest Green.
