Taylor made it big!

GIRL In Red has turned golden after learning how to conquer big venues by supporting Taylor Swift.

The Norwegian singer, real name Marie Ulven, is headlining Wembley Arena in September for her new album I’m Doing It Again Baby!, having supported Taylor in stadiums on her Eras Tour last year.

Marie told me: “Seeing Taylor perform every night for three hours straight and being so consistent, I learned a lot about working hard.

“You could see how much work had been put into her show.”

Girl In Red is also full of admiration for how well Taylor and her crew treated the support acts.

Marie said: “The world is watching Taylor and she knows that. She only wants to surround herself with good people. Taylor is so nice and everyone around her treats you nicely. Her values are reflected in the tour crew, so it was a great tour.”

Stepping up to arenas for her second album, following the No 7 success of her 2021 debut If I Could Make It Go Quiet, Marie revealed: “I’ve put my life savings into my tour, as I truly believe in it. It’ll be a very high-energy show. I like dancing around and moshpitting. “I like rock shows, and that’s what my tour will be like, as the best shows are when people stop being scared of bumping into the person next to them.”

I’m Doing It Again Baby! sees Girl In Red at her most upbeat, after falling for her new girlfriend.

New tune A Night To Remember describes how they met: “The night we met was so magical. When we listen to that song, my girlfriend falls in love with me more and gets very lovey-dovey, saying, ‘It’s about us!’ I was a lot happier this time round.

“At first, I was trying to force songs that sounded sadder. Then I thought, ‘No, this isn’t the vibe of these songs, what am I doing?’ I had to go for it, make music that was fun.”
