■ HAVE you ever had an odd feeling that something was going to happen… and then it did? Top author Sir Salman Rushdie has revealed he had a premonition that he was going to be attacked just before being stabbed at an event in 2022 that left him blind in his right eye.
■ Amazingly, the writer had dreamed about a man bearing down on him with a spear in an “amphitheatre”. Here JAMES MOORE reveals other freaky celebrity premonitions…
Eerie episode: Loose Women host Christine Lampard pushed her husband, ex-footballer Frank Lampard, away from scaffolding after having a premonition that it was about collapse. Creepily, a chunk of metal then fell off it, narrowly missing them. She says: “We would have been killed.”
Sixth sense: Actress Riley Keough, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, had a premonition that she would star in recent TV miniseries Daisy Jones & The Six. She said: “I had this weird premonition that I was going to play Daisy in this show. I have these things sometimes. It sounds a little spooky but I do.”
Royal omen: Telly legend Maureen Lipman had a “strange experience” shortly before Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022. She says: “I had a premonition…” The star texted one of her Coronation Street co-stars saying: “I think the Queen is going to die.”
Fore-telly: Friends star Matthew Perry had a premonition about his own death just 12 months before he tragically died aged 54, in October 2023. Opening up about his drug and alcohol addiction in his 2022 memoir, he predicted: “It’s going to kill me.”
Star struck: Singin’ In The Rain movie star Debbie Reynolds had a vision that her daughter Carrie Fisher was going to die days before the Star Wars actress had a fatal heart attack aged 60 in 2016. Debbie herself died the following day.
Chopper chiller: Actor Vic Morrow, 53, was killed in a helicopter accident on the set of Twilight Zone: The Movie in 1982. Years before, he’d said: “I have always had a premonition that I was going to die in a helicopter crash.”
I’m a psychic celeb: Model Kendra Wilkinson, who starred in 2014’s I’m A Celeb, says she had a dream about a star getting killed by a stingray 24 hours before TV’s Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin died that way, aged 44, in 2006.
Pres-age of death: President Abraham Lincoln once had a dream about seeing a coffin in the White House and being told by a guard that the president had been assassinated. Lincoln was shot dead by a gunman on April 14, 1865.
Plane crazy: Months before singer Buddy Holly died in a plane crash, aged 22, his wife Maria had a dream of a fireball crashing to Earth. Buddy then told her that he’d had a similar nightmare where he was flying away from her with the feeling that he wouldn’t see her again.
Terror prediction: Movie legend Sir Michael Caine predicted a 9/11-style terrorist attack. He says: “I had this plot where terrorists fly a plane into a London skyscraper. Then they did it in real life (in New York). I was stunned by that, so I stopped writing.”
