“I said on a podcast a few months ago that the aim was to stay up and we’ve done it.

“It’s not just about my goal – it’s everyone as a collective. It’s been a tough year but we’ve got across the line and that’s what’s important.”

CHARLIE ADAM says his Fleetwood side laid down a blueprint for their promotion push next season after being condemned to the drop.

The Cod Army boss said: “You’ll see a team next year, a team that is going to run and that is going to fight and they are going to play.

IAN EVATT says thirdplaced Bolton cannot afford to dwell on what might have been ahead of the final weekend.

The Wanderers boss said: “I think we all feel we could have done more but that has to go now.

The Rams just need a point at home to alreadyrelegated Carlisle and experienced Mendez-Laing (below) said: “It is massive and it would mean so much to us all.

“This was the goal at the start of the season, and we are 90 minutes away from that now. We’ve got one more to go.”

NORTHAMPTON 1 EXETER 2

WILL AIMSON insists Exeter’s nine-game unbeaten run shows the Grecians are determined to end the season on a high.

The defender said: “To keep the unbeaten run going was the main focus.

“It’s easy to say in these moments that you are safe and have nothing to play for, but we definitely do as we want to finish the season as strong as we possibly can.

“It was a gutsy performance from everyone and we are really pleased with that.”

BRISTOL ROVERS 0 PETERBOROUGH 2

GARATH McCLEARY admits his double at Brunton Park brought back happy memories for the Wycombe winger.

“We’ve set a target of finishing in the top 10 and hopefully we can see it off in our final game next week.”

CHELTENHAM 1 LINCOLN 2

JOE TAYLOR praised strike partner Freddie Draper after Lincoln put themselves in pole position to clinch a play-off spot.

The pair netted in a vital victory for the Imps and Taylor said: “Freddie was brilliant.

“We had a chat and he said we’ll just forget about the first 20 minutes and focus on the rest of the game.

“He does so well because he does get beat up a lot in games and he does so well to keep himself in the match.”

PORTSMOUTH 1 WIGAN 2

JOSH MAGENNIS believes Wigan have shown they are capable of living with the best teams in League One.

The Latics striker said: “Throughout the course of the season, we’ve proven against the so-called bigger teams that we can put in a performance.
