CREWE 0 WREXHAM 3

OLLIE PALMER says Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham have already moved on from clinching promotion and are determined to end the season on a high.

The striker, who opened the scoring, said: “It’s important to keep that momentum going into the next season. It’s a good group of honest lads in there and we put in a professional display.

“When we got back in on Tuesday the manager put the promotion to bed and said we focus on Crewe now and win that game.”

HARROGATE 3 MK DONS 5

MIKE WILLIAMSON has demanded improvements from his Milton Keynes squad ahead of their play-off bid.

Despite leaving Yorkshire with three points, the Dons boss said: “We need to work on the other side of the game out of possession, the resilience. There is no hiding where we need to improve.

“But when the boys click they are unstoppable. We are at the level now where the competition is very, very good.”

NEWPORT 0 SALFORD 1

MATT SMITH says his Salford team-mates deserve the credit for the striker hitting the 25-goal mark this season.

The big Ammies forward said: “Pleased to get to the 25 mark if you count my goals at Leeds as well, so a really pleasing return.

“But I’m the type of striker that only looks good with a decent supply line behind him.

“So I think the 25 goals is a testament to the lads and the quality of what they’ve put into the box all season.”

SUTTON 2 CRAWLEY 2

STEVE MORISON admits he is praying for a Doncaster goal-fest when Rovers face Sutton’s relegation rivals Colchester tomorrow.

Sutton boss Morison said: “We are still in the fight. It’s out of our hands completely, which it was before today as well. We had to better Colchester’s result and we did that.

“Now we have to hope Doncaster continue their scintillating form and score a few goals for us on Tuesday night!”

DONCASTER 4 BARROW 2

JOE IRONSIDE says Doncaster have refused to focus on their nine-game winning streak that has taken the club to the brink of the play-off zone.

The Rovers forward netted twice against Barrow and said: “It’s class to be a part of but there’s not too much emphasis on the run itself.

“We’re just playing good football.

“Can we go into the next game and win it? That’s what the approach has been.”

MANSFIELD 2 GILLINGHAM 1

STEPHEN McLAUGHLIN was relieved to finally notch his first Mansfield goal of the season.

The former Derry City and Southend defender said: “To see it go in like that was such a relief, especially after the season I’ve had personally.

“I’ve been in England now for 11 or 12 years and I’ve scored every year.

“So I needed to score. I thought I was running out of games but thankfully I got it today.”

Sub Davis Keillor-Dunn hit the Mansfield opener.

NOTTS COUNTY 1 COLCHESTER 0

SCOTT ROBERTSON believes Notts County can learn from their lateseason dip and challenge higher up the table next year.

The Magpies midfielder said: “The form in February and March let us down but the last five games have been good and hopefully we can take that into next season.

“I’m really excited to get going again and hopefully be up there fighting at the right stage and the right time next season.”

TRANMERE 3 WIMBLEDON 2

REGAN HENDRY pinpointed the arrival of boss Nigel Adkins as the turning point in a season which looked to be heading for trouble for Tranmere.

The Rovers midfielder said: “We lost quite a lot of ground at the start of the season and that was down to us as players because our performances weren’t good enough.

“Then the gaffer came in like a breath of fresh air, new ideas and a lot of positivity. It’s worked a treat so far but there is still room for improvement.”

GRIMSBY 2 SWINDON 0

DAVE ARTELL says there is no cause for celebration after Grimsby secured their League Two future.

The Mariners boss said: “We’ve done our job in staying up but we’re not going to celebrate because we shouldn’t have been in this situation in the first place.

“I’ll take a fair amount of blame for that – it’s not about apportioning out blame, really, but I make the decisions and the buck stops with me.”

Liam Smith and Donovan Wilson got the goals.

MORECAMBE 1 FOREST GREEN 2

JAMIE ROBSON believes Steve Cotterill’s Forest Green showed the right response to the shock of being relegated into the National League last week.

The Rovers full-back said: “I think it was a reaction from last week. I think we are all devastated by what’s happened and we showed good character.

“A bit of pride, for ourselves, for the club, the manager, we are all gutted.

“It was a normal build-up because we still have a job to do.”

STOCKPORT 4 ACCRINGTON 2

JOHN DOOLAN says the form of midfielder Jack Nolan has proved to be one of the high points of a disappointing Accrington campaign.

Stanley boss Doolan said: “Jack’s done really well. Going forward he is outstanding, and his stats are brilliant in terms of goals and assists.

“I try and work on the other side of his game and will continue to do so because going forward he has a wand of a left foot and his goal here summed him up.”

WALSALL 2 BRADFORD 3

ANDY COOK still believes Bradford can force their way into the play-offs.

The Bantams striker said: “If we keep winning, you never know. We are ready to go again on Tuesday (at Barrow).

“After winning games, you cannot wait for the next one – you want to get back out there.

“We just want to put on a good performance and come away with all three points and make the travelling fans happy. Hopefully we can again.”
