❑ There are those calling for the smacking of children to be banned in England. I disagree with that as children at times do need smacking to instil discipline which is lacking around the country. Children abusing teachers both physically and verbally is intolerable and unacceptable. Should never have abolished the cane. They are also abusive towards their own parents and members of the public. This comes down to bad parenting. One often hears parents using foul language on the streets whilst with their offspring which will rub off onto them who will believe it to be a normal thing to do. Richard
