Nowt wrong with a clip around ear

-

❑ Back in the 60s I was caught in a derelict building by a police officer who gave me a clip around the ear. He then took me home to my parents where my dad gave me a good hiding for as he called it bringing the police to the door. I never did it again. LEO F.

❑ Well said Janet Tracy. First sensible comment I’ve read in this paper for ages. Bring back discipline. Save the country. Gary Swindon

❑ Ok someone explain this to me. Why are kids today allowed to get away with hitting their parents, yet if one of the parents hit their kids social services get involved. It never did me any harm to have a smack. I behaved a lot better than the kids I see today.

❑ A woman claims sexual harrassment for being called pretty, wow! Laurence

❑ JEREMY HUNT said the ‘Tories will always be the party who champion pensioners. Really? Cutting NI twice pensioners don’t pay NI at retirement age. Ravaged by the cost of living especially food and fuel they do pay tax. A 6 yr freeze hits the full state pension of 11500 a year Pensioners only need another 1070 of income to hit £12570 personal allowance. Nearly 10 million pensioners pay tax this year twice the number of 14 yrs ago. His next tax cut fairly should be pensioners. The UK sees a smaller % of its GDP given to state pension far less than most other advanced economies. Brian Linford Pontefract

❑ London Mayoral candidate Count Binface says in his manifesto that he will use falconers to keep seagulls under control and replace AI with Ceefax. A couple of popular policies there. Many Londoners are unhappy with Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ scheme, so Count Binface will allow them to make a protest vote.

I’ll be voting for an independant candidate in the Greater Manchester Mayoral elections as a protest vote. If more people make protest votes at the Local and Mayoral elections, it may send a much needed message to the main political parties about how disillusioned people are with them. Dave Pinfold, Stockport

❑ Whoever gets in in my area I hope they sort out Anti social behaviour, the drugs + the pot hole problems. Taff Evans Coventry

❑ So another murder in KHANS London says he going to sort out crime and housing what like he has made such a good job of it over the last 8 years everything he says the opposite happens please the people of London vote him OUT before he completely destroys this city. Ron milk

❑ The Tories latest bright idea is replacing PIP with home improvement vouchers. Seriously!? Like that’s going to pay the bills and put food on the tables of those who are disabled enough to qualify. RedLeader

❑ Sunak’s latest threat to snatch benefits from disabled people is merely a cynical ploy to keep traditional Tory voters on board. Alan Quay

❑ People on disability benefits are now being targeted by the government welcome to tory britain theyve already bullied the over sixties someone always has to be cracked down on to please their voters they wont crack down on millionaire tax dodgers. rj

❑ iv had it want a general elction thev run out of idears vouchers 4 pip instated of cash how stupid iv had it not voting torys anymore. paul

❑ 3 thousand pounds 4 imgrant 2 go 2 rewanda disgusting when our own are sleeping on streets can we all go ashamed. pensioner

❑ Well said BOSS BOOTS about assisted suicide. Quite agree. GRUMPY OLD MAN

❑ So I suppose that mp Danny kruger and other anti assisted death people would be OK seeing a loved one die in agony. Rocker Wilson
