Relentless Celtic have title hat-trick within grasp

- by MARK PEARSON

THE Scottish Premier League title is on the line at Parkhead this lunchtime.

Anything other than a win for Rangers will very likely hand the title to Celtic for a 54th time, a third straight win and 12th in 13 years.

Philippe Clement (right) has improved Rangers’ fortunes this season as they embarked on a long unbeaten run, his only defeat in his first 29 games being a narrow 2-1 loss in an away Old Firm clash. It looked like setting up a great title tussle but dropped points around their Europa League last-16 exit in March may cost them dear – unless they win today.

Celtic have been relentless despite a small loss of form before Christmas. They have recovered their poise, taking 41 points from a possible 51 to hold a three-point lead ahead of the fourth Old Firm clash, with the pair still to meet in the Cup final.

Celtic are 10-11 favourites with Rangers 13-5 and the draw, which will also suit the home side, 11-4.

Celtic are unbeaten in three Old Firm clashes this season, winning two, while Rangers have just faltered lately. Celtic have kept just four clean sheets in their last 15 games, so goals look on the cards. Celtic to win and both teams to score at 2-1 may interest some.

Tomorrow the battle to reach the Premier League starts with the Championship play-offs.

Leeds face Norwich and are 6-4 to be promoted after missing the chance to go up automatically. After losing four of their final six matches, they are overlooked for that honour in favour of Southampton at 13-8.

The Saints won at Elland Road last weekend and are 6-4 to win the first leg against West Brom tomorrow.
