Ch Haura 91 From Denis Dubourdieu. Controlled damson punch. Exceptionally good effort from this relatively young property (as a red producer). Violets and mouthwatering freshness; great value. 2017-2030 Ch de Cérons 90 The replanting programme here continues to reap rewards; this is lovely proof of the potential of the soils. Restraint and balance of soft cherry and blackberry fruit and attractive lift on the finish. 2017-2030 Ch de Portets 90 Firm, well-extracted black cherry and rich sweet chocolate balanced by freshness and silky tannins. Lots to enjoy from winemaker/owner Marie-Hélène YungThéron. Excellent value pick. 2017-2030 Ch Pont de Brion 90 Smoky cigar and cedar, soft, ripe fruits and grippy tannins; confident. 60% Cab Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot. Vinified in stainless steel then aged for 12 months in one-year-old oak. 2017-2027 Ch Roquetaillade La Grange 90 One of the most southerly estates in the Graves. Full extraction but balanced bilberry and black cherry with a seam of freshness. Ambitious wine that carries it off. Great value and precision. 2017-2030 Ch St-Robert Poncet-Deville 90 Dark cherry, bilberry, liquorice and black chocolate, held together by silky tannins. Punches above its weight; impressive. Ageing in new barrels. 75% Merlot, 25% Cab Sauvignon. Good value. 2017-2028
