Masciarelli’s Castello di Semivicoli
A gastronomic holiday in a secret corner of Abruzzo, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards
Surrounded by smooth lawns, olive groves and vineyards, the magnificent building of Castello di Semivicoli sits on a hill between the mountains and the sea, with breathtaking views over Abruzzo.
Brought back to its past splendour thanks to a long restoration by the Masciarelli family, the Castello di Semivicoli surprises guests for its beauty and authenticity. This is what originally enchanted Gianni Masciarelli – the winemaker who started the renaissance in Abruzzo winemaking – who gave it to his wife Marina Cvetic as a gift; it was a turning point in his plans for how to to promote the region of Abruzzo and wine-tourism.
Gianni acquired the crumbling castle in 2004 and personally supervised the whole restoration process, with Marina Cvetic. It was she who took care of the interior design, selecting materials, furniture and unique décor pieces. Dating back to the XVII century, the palace was originally built by Barone Perticone. Today, it is a country-chic residence ideal for lovers of beauty “off the beaten track”: a home that preserves intact the authenticity of bygone times and places, somewhere to rediscover peace and harmony.
