Hirsch Vineyards, Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County 2013 Proving that Hirsch is not just brilliant at Pinot Noir, this has mineral vitality and world-class poise. I’ve followed this wine over the past few years, and 2013 is set to be my favourite yet. 92 Drink 2016-2022

Sandhi, Sanford & Benedict, Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara 2013 This wine’s silky texture and racy acidity never cease to impress; definitely one for Burgundy lovers. It has a great future, but I’ll struggle to keep my hands off it now! 90 Drink 2016-2021
